Different Types of Pet Clubs for Dogs and Cats in Australia.
Most clubs that cater for an interest in dogs and cats are social groups by nature, run by volunteers who have a particular passion for the care, ownership and training of their specific classification of pet.
There are clubs for example that focus on dog obedience training, but these are typically found by looking under pet trainers. There are many associations that look at breeding specific types of breeds covering both cats and dogs, but again can be found by looking on Pet Directory under pet breeders.
The pet clubs we’re going to talk about in this article are those that have enthusiasts of a particular breed as members. These clubs for pets are one of the most valuable resources you can get involved in, covering every aspect of care, health and wellbeing, training and breeding. Every facet and characteristic of the breed is considered, separated out and expanded upon, with members willing to discuss and share the knowledge they’ve gained about a topic with many years of experience behind them.
There are some breeds for example that lend themselves to activities, other breeds are not capable of joining in on due to their size, lack of strength, speed, or ability to train. However, there are dog shows for example where all breeds of dog can compete at international level, with the world famous Cruff’s International Dog Show an example of where all breeds can compete in different disciplines and win.
Back to Australia, each state has a Royal Show where members of dog clubs and cat clubs can enter their furry champions in a variety of different competitions, covering the physical aspects of the pet and it’s grooming to agility, herding, dancing and more.
